This is going to be a bit random, but I've gotta try some newfangled device Yahoo is telling me I get cause I'm a premium user.... LOL

Boy it has been forever since I updated... and this blog has sort of turned into my noob gardening blog lol.  Anyways, here's what I've been doing that doesn't involve Narnia in any way shape or form. (That's so sad, I almost typed 'forum')

Here's my giant pot of strawberry plants I was telling you about Amy. The idea I'm actually toying with the most is just setting them in the sad little strawberry patch I have no and just leaving them there and let the runners drop over the side....

Here's the remaining plants I still have inside that need to go outside. Since it's been a while since I posted pics, this probably looks really bad, but the truth is, this is a huge improvement. Just... 12 more tomato plants and 8 more pepper plants... (don't laugh)

Ok, this pic is going to induce heart attacks on any serious gardeners because of the huge amount of weeds... but at least it makes my garden look really green. LOL You're looking at the northwest corner of the garden.  In the far back you can see the corn and potatos. To the right of the picture, those are my herbs.

A better shot of the herbs and the cages behind are my tomato plants.

Ok, this is kind of hard to see except for the one in the front... but this is half of my row of blackberries. The ones behind me don't look quite as good :P

... stupid grass....

Here's a better shot of my carrots, onions, lettuce and spinach. Ignore the weird angle.. I was trying to fit it all into the shot.

Taters :D

Zucchini... I think... It's some kind of squash.

Corn (ignore the grass... I'm getting there...)

And here's a couple shots from behind towards the front. The straw patches in the middle are where the peppers are that have gone outside. They haven't started growing yet, they're still putting roots down. The big open space (aka grass) is for the remaining tomatoes and peppers that are sitting in my kitchen. :P

Anyways... so yeah. This was a bit more overzealous than I had originally planned. I figured I'd kill most everything but the only things that really died were the raspberries... I guess that's why God makes the plants grow and not me. LOL

Possessed Robin

Here's a video to go with my post from yesterday.

The Birds

So it all started a week or two ago when Tom and I started tilling the backyard and cutting down tree limbs and piling them.  All the robins (and other neighborhood birds) were all excited and started congregating in our yard. So after that we started being trailed by one very fat robin in particular.

Last week we were out grilling cause it was just gorgeous, and our robin friend was eyeing us, so Tom threw a grape at him.  He bounced over, grabbed the grape, flew off a little ways, and started eating it.  We all laughed cause we didn't know robins ate grapes.

On Sunday we noticed he's decided to move into (or onto) our hideous van.  He likes it between the side mirrors and the door.  I wouldn't care except that now there is a very large amount of poop streaming down the sides.  blegh...

Monday I woke up to something banging in the kitchen. I walked out there and noticed our friend robin trying to fly into the house. When he saw me he quit.  I suspect he was trying to get to my plants. (Which I might add are quite tall. Anna makes fun of me all the time.) But now he's been doing it every single morning.  When I was doing the dishes yesterday afternoon, he landed on the window sill outside and stared at me for a while. I also made my way out to the compost pile with a bunch of stuff to toss on there. I turned around to see I was being trailed by a gang of robins.  And last night when Tom and I were out in the yard, we were still being watched very closely by the same group of robins (they were happily eating grapes that I had tossed earlier).

This morning I finally got a picture of my robin friend who is so determined to get into the house.  Here he is....

I'm just really glad I haven't read The Birds recently as I'd probably be really freaked out, but I haven't, so I'm good. I'm just torn between finding this really amusing or really annoying.

I don't know how you all feel about the Political election this year, but I have to stick up an ad for Tirian (who designed and is selling this sticker) because this is exactly how I feel.

You can order this sticker from Tirian at this website....
